Ravenna Tran is a Chinese Vietnamese American director and cinematographer based in London. Her work explores identity, belonging, and the quiet resilience of people on the margins.
With over a decade of experience across film, branded content, and visual storytelling, her projects include collaborations with Amazon, National Geographic, Disney, Make-A-Wish, and RADA, as well as award-winning short films that have screened at BFI Flare, Frameline, and Cinequest.
Her film, “Divine Intervention” was a 2024 Iris Prize Best British Nominee and broadcasted on Channel 4.
She is the 2021 winner of the Short Shorts Film and Asia Cinematic Tokyo Competition, and the recipient of the Governor of Tokyo Award for her film, “And Then”.
Drawing from a multicultural upbringing and a background in both film and visual design, Ravenna brings a painterly sensibility to the moving image, crafting stories rooted in authenticity, empathy, and cinematic precision. Whether directing narrative drama or documentary work, she seeks to create spaces where underrepresented voices are seen, heard, and celebrated.
